Strike It BIG with Bowl for Kids’ Sake 2010!

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is a fun and easy way to help kids in Washington County. Despite the name, it’s not about the bowling! Bowl for Kids’ Sake is our largest annual fundraising campaign. All the money raised helps Washington County children find extraordinary adult mentors through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. 

We're currently recruiting Team Captains for our 2010 BFKS campaign. Team Captains organize 5-person teams, and each bowler raises a minimum of $75 in pledges. In return, teams enjoy a fun party of bowling, T-shirts, food and prizes all while helping us match more kids in our community with caring mentors.

How do I sign up to participate in Bowl For Kids' Sake?
•  Contact BBBS to register. Register online or by calling the BBBS office at (226) 334-7896. Reserve your preferred bowling party time and date.
•  Once your team is registered, the team captain receives pledge sheets for the entire team (or bowlers can print out a pledge sheet here.) Pass the pledge sheets along to each fundraiser and start collecting those pledges! (Every team member is required to collect at least $75 in bowling pledges.)

Tips for Collecting Pledges
Ask for support – collect pledges from your family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues. You can ask anyone! Remember, you are asking to help local kids!  Every donation makes it possible for our qualified staff to reach out and find mentors for more kids in Washington County in need of a positive role model. 

• To reach our goal, we require that each bowler/team reach a minimum pledge level. Each individual must raise a minimum of $75.00 in pledges.
• Each bowler can set up their own Firstgiving page to collect online donations.  Friends, family and co-workers can conveniently make their pledges online, making it easier to reach out to potential sponsors that live farther away or that bowlers don’t see too often. To set up your page, visit www.firstgiving.com/bbbswashco and follow the instructions for creating your fundraising page. You and/or other members of your team may enter your team name when creating your Firstgiving pages, and your pages will be linked.
• Be creative and reach high when asking for pledges. All you need is 3 people to pledge $25 to reach the minimum. Then try for more to reach prizes at the $150+ pledge levels.
• Pledges can be fixed amounts (e.g. $25) or an amount per pin (e.g. $.25/pin).
• Per pin pledges are multiplied by the higher score of two games (minimum score of 100 is automatically given to each bowler).
• BBBS will bill for pledges of $10 and over. Pledges under $10 must be collected by the bowler and turned in at the bowling event.
• Pledges can be billed or paid for by cash/check. Make all checks payable to BBBS of Washington County. Remember to bring all collected donations with you the day of bowling.

Celebrate your Fundraising Success with a Bowling Party – Strike It BIG!

Come to the bowling party you registered for with your pledge sheet and collected pledges, and have some FUN. All fundraisers, enjoy a FREE T-shirt, 2 games of bowling, shoes, pizza and door prizes, with a minimum of $75 in pledges per bowler! **All proceeds used to benefit Washington County children.** The more money you raise the more prizes you have the opportunity to win!
