Options as a Mentor

BBBS has a variety of programs to fit the diverse lifestyles of volunteers. Mentors may volunteer individually, as a couple, or as a family. The following mentoring programs are offered:

Community-Based Mentoring – An adult volunteer (individual, couple or family) is matched with one child. Twice a month for a period of at least one year, the match explores shared interests together through simple activities in the community.

School-Based Mentoring – An adult volunteer is matched one-to-one with a child at one of the elementary schools located throughout Washington County, including Kewaskum, West Bend, Jackson, Hartford and Germantown. The match enjoys academic and recreational activities once a week during the child’s lunch period for the length of the school year.

Site-Based Mentoring - GuyZone at the YMCA – Adult male mentors are matched with middle school boys. The matches meet every Wednesday at the Kettle Moraine YMCA from 3:45 - 5:30. There are group activities, homework help and free time to enjoy the YMCA together. The group meets weekly for the school year.
