Abe and Donovan 11-18-13

Being a Big Brother or Big Sister is one of the most enjoyable things you’ll ever do, not to mention, one of the most fulfilling.

Have you ever thought to yourself  “I’ve been so fortunate, I’d like to do something to give back?” Or maybe you thought “When I was down, someone helped me up. I’d like to pay that forward,”   Or “I’d really like to make a positive difference in the world, but don’t know where to start.”   Here’s your chance.

You have the opportunity to help shape a child’s future for the better by empowering him or her to achieve. And the best part is, it’s actually a lot of fun. You and your Little can share the kinds of activities you already like to do.

You’ll be matched based on your location and your interests, activities and personality. Play sports together. Go on a hike. Read books. Eat a pizza with extra anchovies. Bake cookies. Or just give some advice and inspiration. Whatever it is you enjoy, odds are you’ll enjoy it even more with yourFf_Wh_Grass Little—and you’ll be making a life-changing impact.

There are 75 Washington County children enrolled and waiting to be matched with their own Big Brother or Big Sister. Two thirds of the children waiting to be matched with a “Big” are boys. Be a Big Brother or partner with your wife to be Big Couple and mentor a Little Brother together. There are also Little Sisters waiting for Big Sisters. They’re ready. Are you?

Volunteering just a few hours a month with a child can start something amazing. So why not apply to be a Big today?
