Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washington County is a non-profit organization that helps boys and girls in our community reach their full potential through one-to-one mentoring relationships with volunteer adults.
Being a mentor does not require special education or skills - just a willingness to be a friend to a child. Think about it this way - who was the special person who broadened your horizons, cheered you on and brought a little magic into your life growing up? It may have been a teacher, neighbor, cousin, coach, or family friend. Usually it's an ordinary person, doing ordinary things, creating the extra-ordinary. That is when the little moments of mentoring create big magic.
Screened, matched, and supported by professional staff, community volunteers mentor boys and girls ages 6-18 who live in Washington County. Mentoring not only brings magic into the lives of the Littles, but also into the lives of the volunteer Bigs.
