Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washington County-Community Engagement Coordinator

Summary Job Description

The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for implementing, sustaining, and evaluating an effective marketing and community relations program that advances the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washington County and builds community partnerships throughout the county. Working closely with the Executive Director, Recruitment Committee, and staff, this position develops new partnerships in areas of program, volunteer, youth and donor recruitment and special events.  This position cultivates prospective new corporate and community partnerships to generate volunteers and revenue, manages existing partnerships and develops and implements strategies to create geographic balance between volunteers and youth in the mentoring program.

 

Essential duties include outreach to corporate, civic, faith based and educational groups to arrange and conduct presentations, maintaining existing and developing new partnerships to promote BBBS, representing BBBS at chamber, civic and other community events, and participating in agency events and activities. This position also utilizes social media to promote BBBS and will maintain Facebook and Twitter pages, create press releases, arranges PSA’s and coordinate monthly tapings of “Tuesday’s Child” with Channel 12.

 

Previous experience and proven success in partnership development, and/or volunteer recruitment is required. Knowledge of Washington County is required; established contacts or relationships a plus.  The Community Relations Coordinator must demonstrate creativity, customer focus, excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently and initiate new strategies.
