Ending the Silence (NAMI)
Ending the Silence is designed for children and parents/mentors of children in middle or high school that includes warning signs, facts and statistics and how to get help for themselves or someone they love. Research has shown that NAMI Ending the Silence for Students is effective in changing middle and high school students’ knowledge and attitudes toward mental health conditions and toward seeking help. It teaches adults how to work and talk with children and families of someone suffering with mental health.
Join us on Wednesday, May 8 at 5:30PM to learn about how we can End the Silence together.
This event is open to Bigs, Littles, and parents/guardians of children ages 12 and older.

Match Movie Night
Join us for a night in with popcorn and a movie. We will be playing Shrek! Perfect for all ages to laugh and have a good time. Popcorn and beverages will be provided. Matches are encouraged to also bring in their favorite movie snack either for themselves to share with the group.
Don’t forget movie nights are always filled with comfort. Feel free to come in pajamas and slippers, bring a pillow or blanket, even a stuffed animal if you wish.

Craft Club
Join us in sewing together some blue jean flowers. These flowers will be on display in our bottle vases we created last month, for our Celebration Luncheon. Although you won’t get to take them home right away, you will get them back!

Scavenger Hunt
Grab your partner, and in 5, 4, 3…we will scavenge all of Washington County. Go on an adventure together by completing everything on your scavenger hunt list from getting a scoop of ice cream, to taking pictures with frogs. Get to learn what fun there is to discover throughout our very own county.
Matches will have 3 hours to complete as many tasks as they can before meeting back at the BBBS office where we will enjoy some lunch and check out what everyone did. The match who completes the most amount of tasks will receive a prize at the end! Game on and good luck!

Great Lakes Fishing
Enjoy an early morning of fishing on a charter boat on Sunday, June 9th at 5:30AM at the Port Washington Marina. Lunch will be provided after fishing. Little should be 10 years or older. Big (any Little’s 16 or older) will need a fishing license with a salmon/trout stamp. Space is limited.
Youthtrition Orientation
Youthtrition focuses on different aspects in everyone’s lives that need to work for them to stay healthy. It is not just about the food we eat and the exercise we do, but also how we treat ourselves mentally, behaviorally, and adjusting to the different stages of our lives.
To learn more about what Youthtrition is about, what we will be doing, and to give some input into what activities or topics we should focus on, sign up for our orientation being held on June 12, 2024 at 5:30PM.
Nature Canvas Painting
Join us in painting some nature pictures on canvas using recycled materials such as balloons, bags, straws, toilet paper rolls, and more.

Celebration Luncheon
Join Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washington County in celebrating 55 years as we honor our graduating matches of 2024, present various awards and recognize those who give us the support we need.
The celebration will be held on June 23 from 11:00AM-2:00PM at Folk Song Farm.
Lunch from Richfield Roadhouse will be served along with desserts compliments of Walmart.
Horse-drawn Carriage Rides from the Beistle Brothers and Caricatures from Caricatures, Comedy, and More.

Glass Bead Suncatchers
Help us in creating decorations for your windows or outside. Using recycled beads and plastic lids, we will be making some brilliantly colored suncatchers.

Big Retreat
Calling all Bigs to join the BBBS team in a retreat just for you!
On July 19, 2024 from 4:00-8:00 at Blue Lotus Center, Bigs will get to go hiking on trails, boat rides, fishing, yard games, and enjoy a picnic around the campfire.
Our picnic will be pot luck style, so don’t forget to sign up for a dish to pass.

Farmers Market Challenge
Join the Farmers Market Challenge at 9:00AM on Saturday, July 20 and see how much your money is worth. Matches will be given a sum of money to use at the farmers market where they will have to find the ingredients to make a meal for two.

Cedar Lake Picnic
Join us on August 7 from 4:30-7:00PM at the lake for an afternoon of boat rides, kayaking, swimming, lawn games, food and more! If you have a small life jacket, we encourage you to please bring it along for the water activities.
Our picnic will be potluck style, so be sure to sign up for a dish to pass.

Paper Lanterns
Come on in and get creative with us as we make some lanterns out of popsicle sticks and tracing paper. You can truly let your light shine in the art you draw on the front of you lanterns.

Creating Veggie Pizza
Come on into the BBBS offices on August 28 at 5:30PM to create your own veggie pizza. Matches will mix their “sauce” and chop up any veggies they would like to add on top. Already made crust will be provided. Best part is you get to enjoy what you make right away!

Hiking Adventure
If you love the great outdoors, this Hiking Adventure is for you. Come along with BBBS staff on September 21 at 10:00AM, on a beautiful hike and check out what you can see, smell, hear, feel, and taste.

iSucceed: Quad Tour
iSucceed will be taking a tour of Quad on April 10, 2024 to learn about graphic design and marketing. Matches will get to explore the plate room, press, and finishing of products. Be sure to register by April 8, 2024. All matches with Littles in grades 6-12 are welcome to attend.

A workshop dedicated to teaching children and adults about the importance of finance, budgeting, and planning. This will be two workshops in one. One workshop will be for our Little’s in grades 6-8, while our other workshop is for Little’s in 9-12 grade. Bigs and parents are both invited to also attend and learn some tips or learn how to help their Little.
This workshop will be mixed with part lecture and part hands on activity learning.

5K Butterfly Run/Walk
YOUTH IMPACT CLUB (YIC) is an after hours, high school club focused on advocating for, STIGMA REDUCTION, MENTAL WELLNESS, AND SUICIDE PREVENTION. Initiatives and events planned and hosted by club members, are designed to increase knowledge on the topics of mental wellness and suicide prevention, making both issues "talk-able" topics.
100% of all funds raised through the 5K Butterfly Run/Walk event (registrations, sponsors, donors, and raffle sales), will be applied directly to the continuation of mental health and suicide prevention initiatives, including a state approved suicide prevention program called HOPE SQUAD as well as QPR training (suicide prevention method). Funds will also be provided to help Badger Middle School set up a Youth Impact Club (Hope Squad) based on the number of people that sign up for the Badger Team!
The 9th Annual 5K Butterfly Run/Walk"fun"draiser will be held at the West Bend High school football stadium and track and field. We will utilize our Cross Country team's 5K route! Make it even more fun by joining as a team and winning the big team award!
MOWA Art and Chalk Fest
Come on out to this free event, hosted by MOWA. Show off your chalk art skills, listen to music, and see other types of art such as glass blowing.

Celebration Dinner

BBBS Weekend at Shalom Wildlife Zoo
Shalom Wildlife Zoo is inviting BBBS Matches to a special weekend at the zoo! The Shalom is a self guided tour along a 4 mile gravel road with over 800 animals to see. Special Admission for this weekend is $8/person. The match will also get a free bag of feed and a free ice cream! This offer is for Saturday, May 20th and Sunday, May 21st. Golf carts are available to rent at an extra cost.
